Developer to assemble green modular house in Seattle Tuesday
Seattle developer Greenfab plans Tuesday to assemble what it calls the city’s first modular home to target top-level platinum certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
The Central Area home will consist of six boxes that are 12 feet wide, 20 feet long and 16 feet high. The boxes were trucked from a factory in Idaho and are set to be lifted by crane onto the foundation of the demonstration home Tuesday. When assembled, the house will have 1,790 square feet, with three bedrooms and 2.75 bathrooms.
